KRHPP: Key /Reduction /Halftones/Process (CMYK) / Posterizations (choose 1 of these 5 options)
Project parameters:
- Theme: Open
- You can use any of the techniques you've learned so far this semester, or even combine techniques (for example: 4 reduction layers with key image on top)- You are NOT required to do CMYK or posteriztions or reduction. If you like to hand draw, that is perfectly ok to do.
- Image size: Minimum of 10"x16" (Note this is IMAGE size not just paper size)
- Minimum of 5 Printed Layers (If doing CMYK this means your adding an additional layer). Dyeing or spray painting does NOT count as one of the 5.
- Edition of 10 high quality prints on good quality print paper.
1- Key Image Method / printing is found on the page labeled "Direct Drawing Methods". (Direct drawing can be a mix of halftone with drawing as well)
2- CMYK Method

NOTES ON CMYK:
When hand printing CMYK, the images tend to print darker. I recommend playing with the levels in your original image and lighten it a bit, knowing it will print a bit darker.

You can also do traditional CMYK by starting with Cyan, then Magenta, followed by Yellow and finally Black.
You might also try starting with Magenta, then Yellow, Cyan & Black. But you can mix up the order to get different effects and also use non CMYK colors for your four separations.
PROTIP / The process colors come already semi-transparent. However in hand printing, things tend to print darker.
I'd suggest adding some additional Transparent base to each of your colors, or even just thin them further with water.
