Swan Song / Final Project

The swan song is a metaphorical phrase for a final gesture, effort, or performance given just before death or retirement. (In this case, the end of the semester) The phrase refers to an ancient belief that swans sing a beautiful song just before their death, having been silent during most of their lifetime.
So this will be your final gesture, your printmaking opus.
I am NOT asking you to do a book with swans!!! and to be clear, I don't want to see books of swans for the final.

Project parameters:
  • Open theme
  • Submit written proposal and 2 sketches in advance of beginning project.
  • The book can be any of the formats discussed over the semester.
  • I am interested in seeing how you explore your ideas through the book format.  (This final project is NOT about just doing some binding).

Deadlines
Written proposal with 2 sketches due:
Final Project/Critique due:
and bring in 250 word artist statement about your piece.
