Diffused Relief Process (Pressure Printing)

Prompt: Geometric / Organic (THIS PROJECT IS NOT REQUIRED THIS SEMESTER)
Parameters: If you choose to do a diffused relief:
Image size: minimum of 11"x11"
Edition size: 8 (can be variable)

PROCESS /
  • For base design you can use thick paper, Matt board, mylar, lino block.
  • For printing plates a mylar, thin Matt board (2 mil) or thick paper work best.
  • Ink: Modify your ink with Transparent Base and Setswell.
  • To avoid "Felt texture", print using a thick tympan or sheet of masonite.
  • Paper: I recommend a paper like Thai Kozo.  Although thicker papers can work too.
