WK 1/
Aug 29- Introduction to course, materials. Introduce Project 1/SELF PORTRAIT (Show samples). Overview of Printmaking processes.
Aug 31- Demo/ Basics of Screenprinting
WK 2/
Sept 5- Labor Day Holiday- No Classes
Sept 7- Demo/ Warhol Styled print/halftones. Introduce Presentation on a Printmaker project.(Due Oct 10th)
WK 3/
Sept 12- Introduce Project 2: WEST
Sept 14- Curating prints & Print Session (T-Shirt printing on Sept 28th-bring shirts-optional)
WK 4/
Sept 19- Project 1 due/Critique. Introduction to Project 3/KRHP
Sept 21- Demo for Project 3. KRHPP (Key/Reduction/Halftone/Process/Posterizations)- WEST Class printing has now been moved to Monday)
WK 5/
Sept 26- WEST IN CLASS PRINT SESSION
Sept 28- Print Session (Review Eichenberg prints & West prints)
WK 6/
Oct 3- Review MATRIX Prints
Oct 5- Review prints & Print Session on Project 3 (T-shirt printing will be Nov. 2nd)
WK 7/
Oct 10- Indigenous Peoples Day: Review various prints by indigenous artists & Presentations on a Printmaker (now due: W-Oct 26)
Oct 12- Introduce Project 4: Pump Up the Volume (Mixed Media) & Demo on Mixed media processes- Have name of printmaker your doing your presentation on.
WK 8/
Oct 17- Ka'ila Farrell-Smith Visiting Artist
Oct 19- Ka'ila Farrell-Smith Visiting Artist / If you need to buy materials from the print studio: do it today.
WK 9/
Oct 24- Project 3 due/Critique
Oct 26- Student Presentations on a Printmaker due / No late presentations accepted.
WK 10/
Oct 31- Review Print Portfolios & Work session on current project.
Nov 2- T-Shirt Printing in class (We'll be printing Ink Slingers, Squoosh & Push, I love printmaking logos or prepare your screen with your own design.)- Bring in your T-shirts/tote-bags etc if you want something printed. (This is totally optional)
WK 11/
Nov 7- Introduce Project 5: Image/Text project (PPT: Text based art)
Nov 9- Visiting Artist Max Mahn & Introduce Project 6: Final Class Portfolio project & Select Theme
WK 12/
Nov 14- Project 4 due/Critique & Documenting Artwork (email two jpegs of 2 prints by Dec. 7th)
Nov 16- One on One Critiques & review grades. (Text must be selected for Image/Text project)
WK 13/
Nov 21- Print Session
Nov 23- Travel Day for Thanksgiving / No Classes
WK 14/
Nov 28- Preliminary deadline: You must have a minimum of 1 layer printed on final portfolio. (Not just dyed/spraypainted) or docked 10 points on project.
Nov 30- Project 5 due/Critique
WK 15/
Dec 5- Print Session -You must have your final portfolio prints, signed, trimmed down PRIOR to class on Wednesday. You will be docked 10 points if you are using class time to sign or trim prints. (So plan ahead).
Dec 7- Mandatory Class Clean up & Final Class Portfolio due & distribute prints. Last day to hand in late or re-worked projects. The print studio is closed to printing following our clean up.
WK 16/
Dec 12-16- Finals Week / Clean out flat files, lockers and all other items before Monday, noon Dec. 19th.
