Transparencies for Screenprinting:
You will go through a lot of transparencies depending on the complexity and number of prints you undertake. I would suggest buying your own box of transparencies or going in with a couple of people and purchasing some. If you go in with a couple of people and buy a couple boxes it saves on shipping costs.
MAKE YOUR OWN TRANSPARENCIES /
Oiled Paper Method:
(This will work with laser prints, some inkjet, as well as many drawing materials). Do drawing on newsprint or laser print on cheap printer paper.
Use vegetable oil to make your image on paper transparent.
1- Lay paper on sheet of newsprint on glass slabs.
2- Pour a puddle of vegetable oil on top and move around with a red rag.
3- Flip over and repeat on back side.
4- Blot paper between two clean sheets of newsprint to get excess oil off. (Let dry overnight so you don't get oil on your screen)
(you may need to add a little more time to exposure, depending on the thickness of the paper)

HAND DRAWING / (non-digital method)
If you are doing hand drawing images (Non digital), you can also do your drawing directly onto a sheet of printer paper or newsprint (then use oil method).
You can also just draw directly onto a sheet of mylar or acetate using a variety of materials. (See direct drawing link).
Sheets of mylar/acetate can be purchased through the Print Studio / Frame of Mind / or on Amazon.

While the print studio maintains a laser printer for your convenience, it does break down from time to time. If it breaks down over a weekend or late at night, you will need to go elsewhere to print your transparencies. If it breaks down the night or weekend before a critique, it will be your responsibility to get them printed elsewhere. If you are waiting till the last minute to print, the laser printer not working is not an excuse to miss a critique deadline. Start early & plan ahead. Locally if you need to print transparencies you can have them made at the following:
